Fish Curry (Meen Mulaku Chaar)


Fish - 6 pieces (Any big fish)
Shallots (Small Onions) -10
Turmeric Powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Corriander Powder -11/2 teaspoon
Chilly Powder - 2 teaspoon (or as per requirement)
Curry Leaves
Garlic -4
Ginger -1 inch piece
Salt as per requirement
Kudam Puli (Gamboge) - 2
Oil for frying

Method of Preparation
Take two table spoon of water in acup and soak kudam puli or gamboge.Take a frying pan and roast turmeric powder,chilly powder and corriander powder.Now make a paste of the roasted masala and ginger,shallots,garlic and salt.Heat oil in a pan and put the curry leave and saute .Now add the paste and saute well.Then add the kudam puli soaked in water and saute.Now add the cleaned sliced fish and let it cook for five minutes.When its is done remove from fire and serve with rice.

  2. Hi Marina, yet another lovely recipe...I've made a fish curry too, which mom usually makes, but I have used vaalan puli instead. U shud chk that out n tell me wat u think! Cheers!
