Vermicelli Upma




Roasted Vermicelli - 2 cups
Ginger - 1 inch piece
Green chilly- 2
Curry leaves
Corriander leaves - 1 spoon
Garam masala powder - 1/4 spoon
Grated carrots -2
Onion - 1 chopped
Grated coconut - 1/2 cup
Cummin seeds - 1 spoon
Salt - as per taste

Cook vermicelli and grated carrot with 4 cups of water and salt (add 1 teaspoon oil while cooking).In another pan heat oil and add the cummin seeds,onion ,ginger,curry leaves and saute.When it is done add garam masala and saute.Now add the cooked vermicelli and carrots and saute.Now add the grated coconut and saute .Let it cook for five minutes.Garnish with corriander leaves and serve.

Yethaka Fry

Ingredients
  1. Banana {Yethaka} : 2
  2. Ghee : 4 teaspoon
  3. Sugar : 3 teaspoon
Method of Preparation
  1. Slice the banana into pieces
  2. Heat ghee in a frying pan
  3. When the oil is hot put the banana slice and fry till brown
  4. When it turns light brown add some sugar and mix well.
  5. Serve when done.

Sweet Rice Flakes Upma

Ingredients
  1. Rice Flakes - 2 cups
  2. Grated Coconut - 1 cup
  3. Sugar - 4 teaspoons
  4. Cardamom Powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  5. Water - 1/2 cup

Method of Preparation
Take 1/2 cup water in a pan and add 4 teaspoons of sugar and let it boil. When the sugar syrup becomes sticky add the grated coconut and stir till all the syrup is absorbed.Now mix the rice flakes with the coconut and mix well. The rice flakes upma is now ready to serve.
